The music in gf was good, but i dont really remember any specific songs all that well, but i can remember several songs from svtfoe easily, and im not even talking about the ones with lyrics!įor instance: moon vs the lizard, toffee returns/the last magic, ludos not home/moon vs toffee, book be gone, and many more are just fantastic pieces of music!Īnd as for villains, ill just copy-paste what i said in my other commentīecause while bill was enjoyable to watch, and while he did challenge the characters, he never came close to breaking themīut toffee? he broke moon, both figuratively and literally Lore wise, i like both a lot, but svtfoe has a lot more possibilities with what can happen, which i really enjoy!Īs for music, while gravity falls has a better theme song, svtfoe has vastly better music overall! I give this point to GF because of how awesome and twisted Bil Cipher is and because of the other baddies they have like Gideon, The Shapeshifter, Summerween Trickster, etc.Īnimation wise, i like svtfoe a bit more, especially after bfm with scenes like the darkest spell or goop toffeeĪnd when it comes to voice acting, ive said many, many times that i love the voice actors of star and moon Villains- Toffee is an interesting villain, but as of right now we didn't get know much about him or his motivation for wanted to take over Mewni and killing Moon's mother (I know Daron described him as a Magneto type villain, so assume he just wants to save his race, but that hasn't really been shown).
Theme Song- Gravity Falls gets this point. Plus, I want to know more about what happened with the Mewman/Monster Accords. Lore- Both shows have set up a great world with great lore, but which show has the better lore? It came really close, but I'll give the slight edge to Star Vs because of how strange and creative it can be. Adam McArthur is also great as Marco and recently in season 2, Grey Griffin has been really strong as the voice of Queen Moon. Eden Sher's voice acting as Star is so good that I'm shocked she hasn't been nominated for an Annie or Emmy. Even though Jason Ritter, Kristen Schaal, and Alex Hirsch are great in their roles, I have to give this point to Star Vs. Voice Acting- Both cartoons feature terrific voice over work. Yes, a lot of the supporting Star characters got interesting in season 2, but GF had great and interesting supporting characters from the start. However, if we're also including supporting characters, I think GF wins. If we're just talking about the 2 main characters in both shows (Dipper and Mabel and Star and Marco), I'll say Star And Marco.
GF's animation is so good that sometimes I like to pause the episode just to admire the gorgeous animation and background designs.Ĭharacters- This one is tough.
